Hubert Aiwanger would like to become Economics Minister in Berlin. In terms of his career, he would follow in Ludwig Erhard’s footsteps. Before he was economics minister in the federal government, he was also economics minister in Bavaria.
Aiwanger was quoted today by the Berliner Tagesspiegel with an idiosyncratic understanding of suitability: “I think we fit into this federal policy like a glove.”
I have no doubt about that. We can only hope that federal politics will get away with a black eye if this happens.
