Carpaneto, more and more dogs in the former rugby field: “Sport and research disappeared”

The Vega Group, the civil protection association of the Valnure-Valchero Union, has found a new leader in Andrea Foroni, who also volunteers for the organization. In addition to his work with the Vega Group, Foroni is the vice-president of Team Sporty Dogs, a sports association registered with CONI that specializes in training and working with dogs. The group has recently taken over a large green area, a former rugby field, that had been abandoned for decades. With permission from the Municipality, the group has completely redeveloped the area for their own use.

In just two years, Team Sporty Dogs has grown from six members to 90, with five technical instructors who are recognized by the National Educational Sports Center (Csen) and the Organization for Sports Education (Opes). Each instructor balances their work with their passion for training sporting dogs, a task that they describe as demanding but immensely satisfying.

The transformation of the abandoned green area into a functional space for the sports association is an inspiring example of community activism. Foroni’s leadership and the dedication of the Team Sporty Dogs members have revitalized an area that was previously neglected, turning it into a place where both humans and dogs can come together to train and compete.

This story was reported by Valentina Paderni in Freedom, and serves as a testament to the power of passion and dedication in transforming communities.
