Why do preschool and school age children get cough and cold so often? Partly because of the immaturity of their immune systems and partly because they can’t blow their noses. “The cold is among the most frequent inflammations of the upper respiratory tract. It is normally characterized by obstruction, congestion, runny and nasal discharge due to viral infections of the upper respiratory tract – confirms Elena Bozzola, secretary and national councilor of the Italian Society of Pediatrics and medical director of the Bambino Gesù hospital in Rome.
