China begins army maneuvers round Taiwan, responding by sending in its personal troops

China unveiled army plans to “encircle” Taiwan at the moment, three days after new president Lai Ching-te (William Lai) took workplace on the island. This was reported by China’s official information company Xinhua. Beijing started two days of workout routines with Chinese naval vessels and army plane “surrounding Taiwan”. Chinese authorities mentioned the maneuver constituted “extreme punishment” in opposition to the island’s “impartial” forces. “We have despatched sea, air and land forces to reply: to guard the liberty, democracy and sovereignty” of Taiwan, Taipei mentioned, denouncing Beijing’s techniques as “mindless provocation”. China claims Taiwan as a part of its territory and has known as Lai a “harmful separatist” who will convey “conflict and decline” to the island.
