The weekly incidence at national level of Covid cases in Italy rises: 222 per 100,000 inhabitants (03/06/2022 -09/06/2022) compared to 207 per 100,000 inhabitants (27/05/2022 -02/06/2022 ).
In the period 18 – 31 May 2022, the mean Rt calculated on symptomatic cases was equal to 0.75 (with a range of 0.72-0.82), a decrease compared to the previous week when it was at 0.82. This is indicated by the weekly monitoring by Iss-Ministry of Health.
The incidence of Covid cases increased in 12 regions and two autonomous provinces (Trento and Bolzano). The regions are Basilicata, FVG, Emilia Romagna, Lazio, Lombardy, Liguria, Marche, Piedmont, Sardinia, Sicily, Tuscany and Veneto. It can be read from the tables on the decision-making indicators that accompany the weekly monitoring and that ANSA was able to view. The highest value is in Sardinia with 308.3 cases per 100 thousand inhabitants. Followed by Umbria which remained stable at 292 and Sicily which recorded a slight growth from 286.6 to 298.4. The average national value is 222 per 100 thousand inhabitants.
The employment rate in intensive care drops to 2.0% (Ministry of Health daily survey as of 09 June) compared to 2.3% of the daily Ministry of Health survey as of 02 June. The employment rate in medical areas nationwide drops to 6.6%, as of June 9, compared to 7.1% a week earlier.
The percentage of cases detected through contact tracing activity is decreasing (10% compared to 11% last week). The percentage of cases detected through the appearance of symptoms was stable (42% compared to 42%), while the percentage of cases diagnosed through screening activities increased (49% compared to 46%).
