‘We need a change of pace, with leadership and courageous commitments we can write a healthier and fairer future’
Milan, 21 May (beraking latest news Salute) – “This will not be the last pandemic. We may be able to prevent some, but we cannot prevent all of them.” This is the warning launched by the director general of the World Health Organization (WHO), Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, on the occasion of the Global Health Summit in Rome. “The pandemic has shown that health is not a luxury, but the cornerstone of social, economic and political stability,” he warned.
And for this reason the WHO DG asked for a change of pace: the usual business logic, he warned, “will produce the usual result: an insecure, unprepared and unfair world. But with bold ideas, courageous commitments and courageous leadership, we can write a healthier, safer and fairer future for our children and our children’s children “.
