Participants began the 40-mile route in Lower Manhattan, passing through Central Park, the South Bronx, Queens, Long Island City, and Staten Island. Some cyclists, like Manuel Ventura who has participated for 24 years, have made it a family tradition.

Ventura explained, “This is my 24th year, if I am accompanied here by a family group, including brothers-in-law and cousins, who have accompanied me for ten, twelve years and for me it was a pride, a pleasure that they accompany me in this event because it is something very nice.” He emphasized the importance of training and preparation before the event.

Others, like Silvana Cruz and her husband Eric Rosado, enjoyed the ride on a tandem bicycle.
