Dances, quizzes, raffles and more

by admin

50 years full of ups and downs – a happiness that definitely needs to be celebrated! If the celebration has already been planned, perhaps the last part of the entertainment remains: a few fun, thematic game ideas that both the guests and the couple will have fun with. What cool golden wedding games are there to choose from?

Not only sitting games are suitable, but also one or two that require movement (in moderation, of course). See for yourself which of the following ideas would best suit your celebration.

A classic that makes you laugh: the balloon dance

The classics are often exactly the right choice, because they wouldn’t be classics if they hadn’t proven themselves. Apples can also be used instead of a balloon (or later to increase the level of difficulty).

Usually the balloon goes between the foreheads of the two dancers. Over time it will of course change its position, which makes the whole thing even funnier. The songs should also vary – from slow dances to something more dynamic (don’t overdo it), anything can be included.

A fun quiz with solutions

A quiz that revolves around the married couple, of course, is a great idea if you’re looking for games for golden weddings. It can and should be funny, but avoid embarrassing questions! If the couple is not participating in the Q&A but is just a breastfeeding (laughing) observer, you can also consult with them in advance.

Otherwise, the questions can range from funny habits to experiences to likes and dislikes. To ensure that the game doesn’t become boring, not all questions should be difficult. Also add quizzes that anyone can answer.

You can make the quiz even more interesting by, for example, projecting photos of certain situations on the wall or displaying other types of souvenirs related to them. For example, if a question is about the couple’s (now adult) child, a baby/child photo, a period baby blanket, or baby clothes can be shown.

After answering the question, an explanation should follow for those who did not know the answer, so that they too can be initiated and do not feel left out.

Games for golden weddings where the focus is on the married couple

Over the course of many years, habits have naturally become established in the marriage. These have to be uncovered in this game. To do this, the husband and wife sit back to back on chairs. The pair’s shoes are divided up; they each get their own and the other’s shoes in their hands.

Then questions about marriage are asked. Nothing personal, of course, but more like this:

The two spouses always respond by receiving their respective shoe up. Points are only awarded if there is a match (but points do not necessarily have to be distributed). Don’t make the game too long so that it doesn’t get boring, and try to ask funny questions so that everyone can laugh.

Donkey tail game with a difference

You know the game where a person’s eyes are tied and a donkey’s tail is given to them so that it can then be attached to a donkey picture? The idea is really funny, isn’t it? However, you can modify it a little to suit the occasion:

Use a portrait of the couple, preferably in two separate pictures. Instead of a donkey tail, make kissing mouths. For example, attach double-sided adhesive tape to the back, but only release the second adhesive surface when playing. The eyes are closed and the player has to stick his kissing lips on the portrait. Where will the kiss go? On the cheek, the forehead or even the mouth?

A raffle with a surprising twist

You know how a raffle works. And there should also be prizes for this variant of games for golden weddings – but with a different surprise effect than expected.

Announce a raffle ahead of time so guests have time to purchase any number of tickets. Whether you also add rivets is up to you. The raffle prizes are of course announced at the beginning, but are intended to be misleading (but not a lie). Depending on the number of prizes, you should plan around 15 minutes for the raffle.

What prizes can you announce and then actually distribute?

a lock (a bicycle lock or padlock) kitchen gadgets (potato peeler, small sieve, soap dispenser) BMW (bread with sausage, banana with waffle, porridge with walnut) clothes dryer (clothes line) dishwasher (dishwashing liquid) instant camera (mirror) fruit bowl (actually fruit peels) 5-piece dental care set (5 toothpicks or a combination of toothpicks, dental floss, toothpaste, toothbrush, mouthwash) Dream house (empty snail shell) Yacht (paper boat) Hair treatment (2 raw eggs, olive oil, honey, coconut oil) Air trip (Red Bull)

Bonus idea for the whole celebration: a canvas as a souvenir

This idea is not exactly intended for playtime, but is still fun and a lasting memory.

Set up a canvas with art supplies. At any point during the celebration, explain to the guests what it is intended for: everyone should paint something they want on the canvas over time. Remember to announce this well in advance so that everyone can make it before the wedding reception is over.

There should be a glass of water to rinse off the paint and a cloth next to the canvas.
