The Ministry of Health has issued a new circular aimed at strengthening controls to prevent the spread of infections in our country. The focus of this new measure is on preventing the introduction of the Aedes aegypti mosquito, the vector for Dengue fever, into Italy.
Health Minister Vaia emphasized the importance of taking proactive steps to prevent the mosquito from establishing itself in the country. “There is no alarm here,” Vaia stated. “We have a duty to prevent and therefore prevent Aedes aegypti from taking root.”
The new circular provides clarifications on surveillance measures for aircraft, boats, and goods to ensure that the mosquito does not find its way into Italy. The goal is to protect public health and prevent the spread of Dengue fever, a potentially serious illness transmitted by the Aedes aegypti mosquito.
With the alert for infections on the rise, the Ministry of Health is taking proactive steps to safeguard the health of the population and prevent the introduction of disease-carrying mosquitoes. The public is urged to remain vigilant and cooperate with authorities to help prevent the spread of infections in our country.
