In the “Lanz” program, Karl Lauterbach denounced a street in his own constituency for being a hotspot for drug trafficking:
Lauterbach: “Keupstrasse and the entire surrounding area are one of the largest transshipment points in Germany.”
police: “We can’t confirm that.”
Lauterbach: “I’m sorry about that statement, it doesn’t correspond to reality”
When it comes to drugs, Lauterbach’s theses don’t always correspond entirely to reality. What is more serious, however, is that at the end of the legislative period there could also be an incongruence between statements and reality on much more important points.
