The European Commission has sent the Ministry of Health the request to start the procedures for the nomination of one or more organizations as beneficiary partners (so-called “Competent Authorities” – “Competent Authority” – CA) for each of the Joint Actions (Joint Actions-JA ) and within the Direct Grants (DG) provided for in the Work Plan (WP) 2024 of the European Union Action Program in the field of health for the period 2021-2027 (EU4Health).

Below is the complete list of the 2024 JAs and DGs, with the references of the WP 2024 pages where the objectives and planned actions are summarized.

There are eleven JA 2024, divided into three cycles.

First cycle

JA-01 Support to the development of sustainable, forward-looking national and Union stockpiling strategies (HERA) (CP-g-24-13) (p. 29-30)

To participate in the JA and the DGA, both as Competent Authority (National Coordinator) and Affiliated Entity (Affiliated Partner), it is necessary to be nominated by the Ministry of Health, by submitting a specific request.

The deadlines for submitting Competent Authority applications to the Ministry of Health are as follows:

19 April 2024 JA of the first cycle 16 May 2024 JA of the second cycle 15 July 2024 JA of the third cycle and DGA-MS-IBA-01.

Requests for applications as Competent Authority received after the deadline will not be taken into consideration.

For the submission of Applications as Affiliated Entity, the same deadlines indicated above apply. Requests received after the deadline will still be evaluated, but acceptance of the application by the European Commission is not guaranteed.

A copy of the request and the attached documentation must also be sent to: [email protected]

The request must be sent in compliance with current regulations on the matter and in any case in such a way as to be able to verify the validity of the subscriber’s signature.

The Italian focal point, in collaboration with the Coordination of the Regions-Programma Mattone Internazionale (PROMIS), will organize an information webinar on the Joint Action of the first cycle on 12 April 2024 (10.30 am).

To participate in the Webinar you need the registration by 12 noon on 11 April 2024.

The Webinar will be held in Italian.
