Guarding the fire safety of the city’s forest resources

Report from our newspaper, Beijing, March 28 (Reporter Pan Junqiang) As the temperature rises, the number of spring outings in Beijing is gradually increasing. The peak period of Qingming Festival is approaching, and various construction operations have been fully launched. The pressure on forest fire prevention in the city remains high. The Beijing Municipal Landscaping and Greening Bureau has deployed a combination of strict observation of high fire periods and long-term management to safeguard the fire safety of the city’s forest resources.

According to reports, since spring, Beijing’s 1030 Road forest area remote video monitoring system and 12 satellite remote sensing have been operating efficiently 24 hours a day. Fire watchtowers and forest fire inspection stations are all in operation. There are 384 forest fire inspection teams and management and protection teams at all levels in the city. All are on duty, and control is strictly carried out in key areas and during key periods, and the intensity of deployment and inspections has been increased by dispatching additional temporary forest rangers and adding temporary checkpoints. The city’s forest fire prevention department comprehensively strengthened duty preparation during the Qingming Festival, focusing on fire source control at intersections into mountains and forests, and inspections of forest areas and surrounding areas.

The measures put in place by the Beijing Municipal Landscaping and Greening Bureau demonstrate a proactive approach to ensuring the safety of the city’s forest resources. By utilizing advanced technology such as remote monitoring systems and satellite remote sensing, as well as the dedication of forest fire inspection teams and management and protection teams, the city is taking important steps to prevent and quickly respond to any potential forest fires.
