Last March 19th and 20th the Surgery Unit of the University Hospital of Ferrara organized the “Fourth European Course on new techniques of minimally invasive wall surgery”. It was a very highly specialized scientific event dedicated to the topic of the repair of abdominal wall defects (inguinal, umbilical and incisional hernias) and the correction of diastasis recti millimeters (i.e. the removal of the muscles from the midline), a pathology which affects many women post-pregnancy.

The Dr. Giorgio Soliani (holder of High Specialization position on Minimally Invasive and Open Surgical Treatment of the Abdominal Wall, newly elected National Delegate of the ISHWS – Italian Society of Hernia and Abdominal Wall Surgery), after having organized numerous national teaching courses for Italian surgeons, also brought surgeons from various European countries to Ferrara to share the experiences of these innovative surgical techniques in the laparoscopic version and laparo-endoscopic.

“The dissemination of the Italian surgical experience – explains the doctor. Soliani (pictured) – of a highly specialized center such as the Surgery Unit of our hospital – official training center of the National Sic Wall School – Ishaws – which is constantly at the forefront of technical and technological innovation, to guarantee the best conditions of care for patients, is a source of pride and continues to attract the attention of the best national and European professionals every year”.
