Faculty of Medicine at University of Malaga to Build New Classroom Amid Economic Crisis

In a time of financial crisis and budget cuts at the University of Malaga, the Faculty of Medicine has received some positive news. Despite the university’s significant debt of over 28 million euros, the Faculty of Medicine has been ‘saved’ from budget cuts and will be able to build a new classroom to accommodate the recent increase in the number of new students.

The University of Malaga has announced a tender for the drafting of projects, studies, and construction management for the new classroom. The project is estimated to cost around 120,516 euros and will have no cost to the university. The funding for the new classroom comes from an increase in student places, with commitments from the Ministries of Health and Universities to finance these placements.

The new classroom will be a three-story building with flexible space for up to 200 students per floor. The dean of Medicine, Pablo Lara, explains that the classrooms will be equipped with audiovisual technology and internet connections to facilitate advanced teaching methods. The increase in student places in medical faculties across Spain is part of a government initiative to address the growing demand for medical education.

Overall, the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Malaga is moving forward with plans for a new classroom thanks to external funding and a commitment to meeting the educational needs of future healthcare professionals.
