Few people know that this phenomenon says that Parkinson’s could arrive within 2 years

A correct lifestyle does not only lie in eating or in abstinence from smoking and alcohol. In fact, many underestimate the importance of sleep quality and the impact it has on our health. It is widely recognized that sleep disturbances are closely related to numerous problems, and vice versa. Stress, commonly known to be a grim reaper, can be the cause and effect. In fact, not only cholesterol and triglycerides but this silent killer increases the risk of heart attack and stroke.

There are many people who have to deal with bad rest which, however, is not only harmful but could reveal more.

Few people know that this phenomenon says that Parkinson’s could arrive within 2 years

A study sponsored by the University of Genoa attempted to find a connection between restless sleep and Parkinson’s disease. In particular, in the presence of a specific disorder: the Rbd (Rem Behavior Disorder). Few people know that this phenomenon says that Parkinson’s could arrive within 2 years. This is a disorder that affects the REM phase, the time when sleep and dreams are most intense. Given the state of deep sleep, generally, when we are in this phase we are subject to atony (total muscle relaxation). On the other hand, those who suffer from this disorder tend to scream, take sudden shots, kick, living all too vividly what they are dreaming. The incidence of Rdb had already been associated with the risk of neurodegenerative diseases such as Lewy dementia and Parkinson’s, without knowing how to predict them.

Almost 6 times higher risk

The 300 patients tested came from all over the world but all were affected by Rdb. In the 3 years that the experiment was carried out, the study shows that this type of disorder increases the risk of Parkinson’s by almost six times two years after diagnosis. The probabilities are further increased in those with particular impairments of the nervous system, visible in specific examinations (Spect), and in subjects over 70 years of age. This is linked to the impairments that the Rdb brings to specific areas of the brain and cognitive alteration. An estimate on the onset time of the disease, however, puts it in a position to be able to intervene in a timely manner with neuro-protective drugs. In fact, if started at the right time, the therapeutic treatment could lead to hopefully more effective effects.
