“Prevention in Action 2024” to Take Place in Ancona on May 18-19

ANCONA – Health, well-being, and prevention will take center stage on May 18 and 19 in Ancona, as the city hosts “Prevention in Action 2024” at Piazza Pertini. This event, presented this morning at the Torrette regional hospital, is the largest multi-screening prevention initiative in the area and is organized by the Marche University Hospital Foundation in partnership with the Salesi Foundation for the first time.

The event will feature a maxi indoor structure with over 25 specialist clinics, where more than 1700 visits are expected to be carried out over two days. Citizens can undergo free visits and exams with specialist doctors from various fields such as cardiology, dermatology, oncology, pediatrics, and more.

Marisa Carnevali and Cinzia Cocco, Presidents of the Marche University Hospital Foundation and the Salesi Foundation, expressed their satisfaction at the start of a new edition of the event after the slowdown in prevention efforts due to the pandemic. Armando Marco Gozzini, General Director of the Marche University Hospital, highlighted the importance of raising awareness about prevention and healthy lifestyles.

Visitors can also access services for sexually transmitted diseases and HPV vaccinations, provided free of charge by the Municipality of Ancona. The event aims to promote the culture of prevention and early diagnosis in collaboration with public and private sectors, including the Gabrielli Group as a main supporter.

To manage crowds effectively, bookings for visits can be made from May 13 on the PRE-NOTA platform of the Marche University Hospital website. “Prevention in Action 2024” is set to bring together the community for a comprehensive health and prevention initiative in Ancona.
