Gemelli is the only Italian hospital in the best 50 in the world

The Gemelli Polyclinic is once again the best hospital in Italy according to the ranking drawn up every year by the American magazine Newsweek, in collaboration with Statista R. It is the fourth year in a row that the university hospital has placed itself at the top of excellence in Italy, also consolidating its position of absolute importance in the world ranking, placing itself in 35th place overall (last year it was 38th in ranking of the best hospitals in the world) in the top 250 worldwide.

It is the only Italian hospital among the top 50 in the world. To draw up the ranking of the 250 best hospitals on the planet, this year 2,400 hospitals from 30 countries were included in the analysis.

In the first three places are the Mayo Clinic – Rochester (USA), the Cleveland Clinic (USA) and the Toronto General – University Health Network (Canada). Among the Italian structures classified as the best, no hospitals in the regions of Southern Italy appear.

In 35th place the Gemelli Polyclinic; at 52/n the Niguarda metropolitan hospital in Milan; in 57th place the Irccss San Raffaele Hospital-San Donato Group; at 65th the Humanitas Clinical Institute of Rozzano; at 66th the Policlinico S.Orsola Malpighi of Bologna; at 103rd the integrated university hospital of Verona; at 117/mo the San Matteo Polyclinic Hospital in Pavia; at 118/mo the Padua hospital; at 135/mo the Papa Giovanni XXIII hospital in Bergamo; at 165/mo the Molinette hospital unit – Aou Città della Salute e della Scienza of Turin; 187/mo the Careggi University Hospital of Florence; at 202/mo the Spedali Civili of Brescia; at 211/mo the Sant’Andrea University Hospital in Rome; at 215/mo the Irccs Arcispedale Santa Maria Nuova of Reggio Emilia. There are no structures in the South of Italy on the list.

Newsweek’s World‘s Best Hospitals 2024 ranking was drawn up by analyzing the performance of the 2,400 best hospitals in 30 countries (USA, Germany, Japan, France, Italy, Great Britain, South Korea, Brazil, India, Spain, Canada, Australia, Mexico , Colombia, Netherlands, Saudi Arabia, Switzerland, Taiwan, United Arab Emirates, Austria, Belgium, Chile, Malaysia, Thailand, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Norway, Israel, Singapore).
