Amendment to Pnrr Decree Facilitates Hiring of Specialists in National Health Service
On April 12, the Budget Committee of the Chamber approved an important amendment to the Pnrr decree that will have significant implications for the National Health Service. The amendment removes the limit of 18 months for the maximum duration of the contract for hiring specialists in healthcare companies not included in the training network of the Specialization School.
Undersecretary for Health, Marcello Gemmato, spoke in support of the amendment, stating that it gives due recognition to the role specialists play within the healthcare system. He emphasized that this amendment is a first step towards greater valorization of professionals in specialist training, which is a goal they are committed to advancing.
Gemmato further explained that this new rule will allow healthcare companies to hire trainees for the entire remaining duration of their course, providing stability and support for these professionals. He also highlighted that this measure, combined with previous legislation facilitating the hiring of healthcare and socio-healthcare personnel with flexible contracts, is a concrete response to strengthening public healthcare personnel.
This development marks a positive advancement in the healthcare sector, offering support and recognition to specialists in training and ultimately benefiting the National Health Service. This amendment is expected to have a positive impact on the quality of healthcare services in Italy.
