Summer may be just around the corner, but the Disneyland Resort just confirmed the 2024 dates for two of the resort’s most popular FALL offerings: Halloween Time and the Coco-themed Family Plaza.

Halloween Time is arguably the most popular seasonal holiday celebration at the resort (perhaps second to Christmas depending on one’s tastes). Disneyland and Disney California Adventure are decked out in “autumn décor” with characters dressed in “hauntingly haute Halloween outfits.”

Disneyland at Halloween

Examples include Disneyland’s Main Street, U.S.A. being lined with large hand-carved pumpkins for the Pumpkin Festival, while cars in their “carstumes” overtake “Radiator Screams” in California Adventure. Plus there’s the Haunted Mansion Holiday overlay, Halloween Screams fireworks show, and of course all kinds of salty and sweet treats.

It’s Halloween at Disneyland!

2024’s Halloween Time will begin on August 23rd and run through Halloween itself, October 31st.

Running parallel to Halloween time will be California Adventure’s popular Plaza de la Familia. The event “celebrates the everlasting bonds of family, Mexican traditions and the spirit of Día de los Muertos.” Offerings during this time include A Musical Celebration of Cocoa street show performed by the Storytellers of Plaza de la Familia that celebrates popular songs from the film Coco, a meet & greet with Miguel from that film.

Family Square

There’s also a Mexican Árbol de la Vida (Tree of Life) and Memorial Wall where guests can post personal messages to their departed loved ones, and a craft station where guests can design paper alebrije (spirit guide) masks of Pepita or Dante from Coco.

The Memory Wall

Plaza de la Familia will launch along with Halloween Time on August 23rd, and run through November 2nd.
