“Numerous decisive issues for our NHS at risk”.
President Dario Manfellotto and the Executive Committee of Fadoi (Federation of hospital internists) together with the Association of Internal Medicine Nurses (Anìmo) “join the appeal of the Federations and Orders of the health professions to ask the Prime Minister Mario Draghi to withdraw his resignation so that the Government can move forward in the fullness of its powers ”. “As a scientific society of doctors and nurses from the departments of Internal Medicine – underlines Fadoi-Anìmo – present in all Italian hospitals and which in these years of pandemic have provided assistance to 70% of patients hospitalized with Covid, we believe that a crisis of Government at this time jeopardizes numerous decisive issues for our NHS.
The reference is to the implementation of the NRP where there are 20 billion at stake and to the urgent reform of hospital care (the so-called new Ministerial Decree 70). The crisis also risks slowing down the process for the renewal of contracts for healthcare personnel, but above all there is the danger of blocking, during a new wave of infections, all the policy carried out jointly to combat Covid ” .
“The National Health Service needs continuity and to continue on the path it has taken. A crisis today risks being a tragedy for Italian healthcare and for the health of patients ”, conclude doctors and internist nurses.
