Rome, Montecarlo, Turin and… Paris. The roadmap for the return to the field of Jannik Sinner is a road which, as Jannik himself wrote yesterday, “is never straight” but at least has well-defined stages. Inevitable for a champion of his caliber with a staff so attentive to all his needs. Yesterday he was at the Foro Italico where he hugged those fans who dreamed of seeing him on the pitch, perhaps in a final against Djokovic which would have been nothing more than a passing of the baton.
Already this afternoon he will be back in Monte Carlo, his base, where he will organize the next steps. The closest one should be Turin: it is at J-Medical the medical center of excellence of Juventus which Sinner should rely on to recover from that hip problem that put him out of action in Madrid and then in Rome.
Treatments at J-Medical with physiotherapist Giacomo Naldi
My colleague is there too Matteo Berrettini had carried out some investigations. In the Juventus clinic all Juventus players undergo medical tests, especially after injuries. At J-Medical Sinner should lay the bricks to build his return to Paris. And the Roland Garros the great objective, and it couldn’t be otherwise for a champion who, despite himself, has already had to say “no” to his home tournament. The hip injury – and Jannik himself admitted it – is delicate and requires particular attention: he will train in the water and in the gym, trying to maintain muscle tone but without overloading the joint too much.
Helping him is a structure of excellence and that Giacomo Naldi, the Bolognese physiotherapist of the champions, who Sinner had met after an ankle injury in 2022 which he had treated in his studio in Casalecchio. Love at first sight between the two, with Jannik who then wanted him permanently on his staff. After six years, Naldi said goodbye to Virtus Bologna and began a journey alongside the South Tyrolean champion who trusts him blindly.
Paris is on Sinner’s mind as he sets his sights on making a successful comeback to the tennis field. Will he be ready in time for Roland Garros? Fans are eagerly awaiting his return to the court.
