Symptoms felt by the journalist
Hylton talked about how he would wake up feeling in a bad mood and how he also had constants stomach problems. She attributed these signs to her busy lifestyle as a correspondent. But her symptoms got worse: “I would wake up and my face would be swollen. I also had difficulty going to the bathroom for days on end.”
After carrying out some research, the journalist suspected she was suffering from a colon cancer. So she immediately booked an appointment with the doctors, took the tests and waited for the results.
He had a rare form of cancer
The test results showed that Hylton did not have colon cancer but another rare type of cancer. She had a polyp o one neuroendocrine tumor. This tumor could occur anywhere in the body, but in most cases it appears in the gastrointestinal tract and has symptoms similar to colon cancer, namely:
Blood in the stool.
Change in bowel habits.
Unexplained weight loss.
Fatigue.
Fortunately, thanks to the fact that the journalist contacted her doctor immediately, her tumor was detected early. After medical treatment, she is now free from the disease.
