Information event on health topics from diabetes, fatty liver disease, osteoarthritis to rehabilitation sports
Health course and prevention day in the Eningen health center June 8, 2024
The operators of the Eningen Health Center invite you – in collaboration with the Health Forum Eningen eV – to an information event at the Eningen Health Center (GZE), In der Raite 4, in Eningen. At the event on Saturday, June 8, 2024 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., in addition to the presentation of health offers, there will also be various tests, participation offers and exchanges with local specialists.
Throughout the year, the members of the Gesundheitforum Eningen e. V. several health events and cooperate on interdisciplinary topics. The event at the GZE is intended to give visitors an insight into the local practices. Those interested have the opportunity to find out more about clinical pictures and treatment options in classical medicine and physiotherapy.
“An exchange with family doctor care could also be interesting at the event,” says Dr. med. Alexander Rau as owner and medical director of the medical centers Dr. Rau & colleagues. The event will include a general health check-up. For example, the team led by Dr. med. Matthias Rauschenbach as head of the family practice (with the additional title of clinical acute and emergency medicine) and Dr. Annette Braun attaches great importance to the early detection of diseases such as diabetes and possible preventive measures. In addition to everyday illnesses, the family doctor’s practice also diagnoses and treats serious illnesses and ensures continuous care for chronic patients. The detection of complications and so-called secondary prevention is also an important part of the care at the Dr. Medical Center. Rau & colleagues.
In addition to the general medical field, the specialists at the diabetes practice Dr. med. Barbara Klarl and Dr. med. Andrea Dustmann and his team offer laboratory measurements to determine spontaneous “sugar” for those interested. Perhaps the visitors who were tested might even want to take another diabetes test after a snack at Cafe Akademie to get a feel for the effect on their sugar levels.
A related specialist topic during the day will also be the detection and prevention of “fatty liver disease”. The team around Dr. Sebastian Bremer will present the diagnostic options of the new liver center in Eningen. For example, the ultrasound machine at university hospital level could be exciting. “With the latest generation of ultra-modern, high-end ultrasound equipment, very fine diagnostics can be carried out using extremely high-resolution images. This is supplemented by modern procedures such as contrast-enhanced sonography. The device also allows the liver elasticity to be measured painlessly, which means we can detect very early stages of incipient liver cirrhosis,” says Dr. Bremer.
It is generally known that exercise and sport can promote or restore health. Therefore, the cardiology team led by department manager Ms. Jana Liphardt should also show visitors the options for a general and cardiological examination in order to be able to check how and to what extent sporting activity is advisable for them.
The van Rossenberg physiotherapy practice presents further prevention options, for example through rehabilitation sports. Visitors can take part in selected group exercises at various stations or test the Physio-Fit equipment exercises accompanied by physiotherapists or sports therapists. Interesting to know that rehabilitation sports measures can be used with a doctor’s prescription (without a previous hospital stay) with up to 50 applications in 18 months.
The owner of the physiotherapy practice in the GZE, Gerardus van Rossenberg, also cares about the treatment of osteoarthritis in the knee or hip. Therefore, physiotherapist Jörg Dollinger will present the results of the GLA:D studies from Denmark and the neuromuscular training program based on them to improve the quality of life of people with osteoarthritis.
On this day, other interdisciplinary collaborations between specialists, such as the approaches of the Reutlingen Headache Conference, will also be presented. The first tips will provide an outlook for a separate event at the Reutlingen Headache Conference in October.
On the informative day, the Cafe Akademie, located on the ground floor and also on the terrace area when the weather is nice, will provide visitors with a bistro meal. And the younger guests at the event are also taken care of. For example, face painting is on the program of the Eningen family practice and the physiotherapy for children KidKG.
“Together with the Eningen Health Forum, the event is organized by the physiotherapy practices of Gerardus van Rossenberg, the Reutlingen Headache Conference and the specialist practices of the Medical Center Dr. Rau & colleagues continued to advance the health issue in Eningen. Through such collaborations and the networking of health providers, interesting events can be offered to citizens,” says Volker Feyerabend, AK Healthy Community Board and Advisory Board in the Health Forum. “With the interactive event, the tests, participatory exercises, information and the active exchange with the specialists, citizens are supported in caring for and regaining their health and knowledge about it.”
