From 2.5 euros for a cardioaspirin to 28 thousand euros for a life-saving vial for melanoma patients, to 80 thousand euros for a liver transplant. These are some “costs” guaranteed by public health. In reality they are investments in the health of the population, in the fight against inequalities, in the social stability of which the national and regional health system are the pillars and must be strenuously defended. This is the message that the Pd Fvg launches after the public meeting in Palmanova with the regional councilor of the Pd Francesco Martines, the health manager of the Pd Fvg regional secretariat Nicola Delli Quadri, the former director of the Health District Luciano Pletti, the former director Western Friuli Health Authority Giorgio Simon, the president of the Consortium for Medical Psycho-Pedagogical Assistance (CAMPP) Michele Tibald.
“Very long waiting lists, assistance for chronically ill people, territorial assistance indicate important shortcomings. The Fedriga council and councilor Riccardi worry about structures, buildings and organizational models but it’s time they worried about people, sick people and those who work in our health service”, said Nicola Delli Quadri, health manager of the Fvg secretariat of the Democratic Party.

Pletti, Tibald and Martines focused on the aspects related to territorial medicine, underlining the strong concern about the cuts and reorganizations inherent to services such as Campp, community nurses, community homes.
According to Martines, “Lower Friuli has some jewels in its cap: Campp, the community nurse, the mental health center and the clinics, which must absolutely be protected. As for the Palmanova hospital, for Fedriga it had to be a super hospital for prosthetics and to stem the flight to Veneto: it is not true, no company document attributes this function to Palmanova where to date 97 hip prostheses, 92 knee and 4 shoulder prostheses have been performed, a far cry from the 2000 announced. recorded – he denounced – the total failure of the role of Arcs which was supposed to carry out planning and control”.
