Those suffering from high blood pressure should definitely avoid consuming this well-known drink found in practically all homes
A drink practically always present on our tables is strongly not recommended for those suffering from arterial hypertension. Factors such as stress, consumption of alcoholic beverages, sodium (very salty foods) and smoking can negatively affect blood pressure.
Excessive consumption of caffeine should be avoided even if the effects would occur above all on those who use it sporadically, while for regular consumers there should be no significant problems. Obviously, in addition to coffee (which the recommended dose should not exceed two cups a day), all other drinks containing caffeine should be limited, such as Coke.
There are some good habits that people should keep in mind to control blood pressure. Among these: regularly monitor blood pressure with the sphygmomanometer, follow a balanced diet, low in sodium and high in fiber, maintain a healthy weight, practice physical exercise for at least 30 minutes a day, preferring aerobic activities such as jogging, dancing, walking, bicycle, etc …
Finally, for those who are overweight it is advisable to also practice muscle strengthening as well as aerobic activity. Especially the latter activity is essential to avoid developing a propensity for hypertension.
