Ibercaja has achieved a significant milestone by becoming the first Spanish financial institution to obtain the Aenor Healthy Organization Management System certification. This certification reflects the company’s strong commitment to health and safety at work, the prevention of occupational risks, health promotion, financial health, well-being, and sustainability for workers, their families, and the community.

The CEO of Ibercaja, Víctor Iglesias, expressed the organization’s dedication to the health and well-being of its employees. During the event, the Director of Conformity Assessment at AENOR, David de Pastors, presented the SIGOS certificate to the Director of Ibercaja’s People Area, José Ignacio Oto.

Iglesias emphasized the organization’s firm commitment to the health of its employees, making it a top priority for the People Area management. He also expressed pride in being the first Spanish financial entity to obtain the SIGOS seal from the prestigious certification company Aenor.

Further, de Pastors highlighted the increasing demand for social commitments in today’s society. He emphasized that sustainability goes beyond environmental issues and that social commitments are equally important. The Aenor certification reflects Ibercaja’s commitment to the well-being and health of its teams and demonstrates the organization’s dedication to continuous improvement.

The delivery ceremony took place at Ibercaja’s headquarters in Zaragoza, during a day jointly organized by Ibercaja and the Government of Aragon, themed ‘The Health of Aragonese Companies.’ The event brought together representatives from prominent Aragonese companies to share best practices for creating healthier work environments.

Ibercaja’s 2023 Health and Wellbeing Action Plan has been well-received by the Bank’s staff, with 1,638 employees participating in various activities under the theme, totaling 3,060 shares. The positive impact of these initiatives was reflected in the high level of staff satisfaction, with 94.25% of participants expressing that the experience reinforced their pride in working at Ibercaja.

This certification and the success of the health and wellness programs highlight Ibercaja’s continuous efforts towards creating a healthy and supportive work environment for its employees.
