The Anatomy Room was officially inaugurated at the Hospital Escuela del Litoral “Galán y Rocha” the day before, marking a significant milestone in the training of healthcare professionals. The room serves as a crucial teaching space for students pursuing careers in the Faculty of Medicine at the Regional University Center (Cenur) North Coast of the University of the Republic.

The event began with speeches in the Rómulo Calegari room, followed by a ribbon-cutting ceremony and a tour of the new facilities in the Anatomy Room. Dr. Diana Domenech, coordinator of the Doctor of Medicine program, highlighted the collaborative effort that led to the construction of the room, emphasizing the support from the Sanducera society.

Mauricio Cabrera, director of Cenur Litoral Norte, and Liber Acosta, director of the Paysandú headquarters, emphasized the importance of having a dedicated Anatomy Room for medical education. Cabrera called for recognizing this achievement and the impact it will have on medical education in the region, particularly in attracting and retaining medical professionals.

Dr. Kalinska Crego, the Hospital director, emphasized the significance of the new facility for the interaction between teachers and students, highlighting the benefits for human resources development and patient care. The project received support and funding from various institutions and companies, including the Mixed Technical Commission of Salto Grande and the Northern Regional University Foundation.
