Langen, March 5, 2024: With the new “Interactions” function in the free Yellow List Pharmindex app, Vidal MMI enables registered doctors to carry out interaction checks.

In this way, interactions and contraindications between different medications can be determined. The interaction check is based on the medical device “MMI-AMTS-Service”, which is approved according to Regulation (EU) 2017/745 (Medical Device Regulation).
“Drug therapy safety (AMTS) in the prescription process is an important topic in clinics, practices and also in nursing. Through our collaboration with the pharmacovigilance department at Heidelberg University Hospital, we rely on well-founded data for interaction testing based on our “MMI-AMTS Service” product. As an independent service provider, we contribute to improving drug therapy safety and support physicians in their prescribing decisions,” explains Vidal MMI Managing Director Marijo Jurasovic.
Drug checks are carried out by scanning the barcode (PZN number) on the drug packaging. The interactions are displayed in descending order of color from red (severe) to green (none). For each interaction, doctors receive detailed information including diagrams on the type of interaction. Removing and adding medications is also possible.
In addition to the interaction check, the highlights of the Yellow List Pharmindex app include news on current medical topics from various specialist areas, Red Hand letters, drug information and drug searches. The user group includes medical professionals such as doctors’ practices, clinics, pharmacies, nursing homes, authorities and healthcare companies.
