In a tragic turn of events, a 20-year-old Maine woman has been charged with manslaughter after fatally shooting her boyfriend on April 2 in Bangor. Olivia Babin allegedly pointed a gun at her boyfriend, Daniel Ford-Coates, 24, asking, “You don’t think I’ll do it?” before pulling the trigger and firing the fatal shot.
The chilling incident was witnessed by at least two others, and newly discovered surveillance video has captured the audio of the horrifying event. In the Nest footage obtained by The New York Post, the gunshot can be clearly heard, followed by a woman’s voice yelling in shock. The video then shows the panicked woman repeatedly screaming, “You’re not dead, you’re not dead,” at least seven times.
Paramedics rushed Ford-Coates to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Babin has since been charged with manslaughter in connection with her boyfriend’s death by the Bangor Police Department. The evidence, including the surveillance video, is being used in the investigation against her.
