“The Covid JN.1 variant, of interest according to international bodies, is confirmed as predominant, with an estimated national prevalence of 71.7% (77% in the previous survey of January 2024)”. This is what appears in the flash survey of the Higher Institute of Health on Covid variants. “Internationally, JN.1 is prevalent and its spread is still growing. Based on available evidence, JN.1 does not appear to pose additional public health risks compared to other co-circulating lineages.
At the same time, we continue to observe a co-circulation of viral strains attributable to XBB, and in particular to the variants national and international recommendations and with ministerial indications, the spread of viral variants, and in particular those with greater transmissibility and/or with mutations related to potential evasion of the immune response”.
