by admin

Destination Insights is the tool dedicated to tourism that Google made its debut in Italy at the beginning of the summer in the context of initiatives for the so-called Italy in Digital: allows you to have useful information to explore how demand changes over time and to monitor travel trends.

And what were the travel trends in this second summer with the coronavirus? From the searches made on Google from June 2 to August 18 of this year it turns out that:

  • Italy is the protagonist of summer 2021 and is the country with the fastest demand growth in the world in the selected time frame, in which it recorded a 75% increase;
  • in the same period, if we consider the countries with citizens most interested in international travel to Italy, we note that the main interest comes from Germany, followed by Austria, France, Switzerland and the United States;
  • among the cities preferred in Italy by potential tourists (Italians and non-Italians), Roma turns out to be the most sought after to stay and spend a holiday, followed by Riccione, Rimini, Venezia, Milano, Naples, Florence, Caorle, Lido di Jesolo and Lignano Sabbiadoro.

  • as for your favorite cities, the Top Ten of Italians sees in the order Rome, Riccione, Rimini, Naples, Milan, Florence, Venice, Cesenatico, Vieste and Lido di Jesolo.
