Blue Origin, the aerospace company founded by billionaire Jeff Bezos, has unveiled plans to develop a commercial space station called Orbital Reef, with the aim of launching by the end of the decade an outpost among the stars alternative to the International Space Station, where astronauts usually conduct their studies. Blue Origin claims that the new station will instead be a “shopping complex” and will accommodate up to 10 people. The video shows the project being studied with Sierra Space and Boeing to build the outpost.
The station Orbital ReefBezos intends to provide customers with an ideal place to “make microgravity films” or “conduct cutting-edge research” and said it will also include a “space hotel”.
