Julius and Patapoutian, the Nobel Prize for Medicine rewards hugs and caresses

The Stockholm Academy awarded the Medicine Prize to David Julius and Ardem Patapoutian for discovering how our skin can perceive the temperature of objects, but also how it reacts to stimuli such as caresses. The study by Elena Dusi with Giuseppe Novelli, director of the medical genetics unit at the University of Tor Vergata in Rome.
