And the choice of the doctor, nominated by the regional councilor Franco Lucente, wanted to reward his commitment to the front during the pandemic, as stated in the motivation: “He experienced the pandemic emergency at the forefront by coordinating the pneumology department of Codogno, in quality of doctor in charge of the service. A human professional experience that led him to devote himself intensely to the fight against the virus. He created the first Covid Area of the Codogno hospital and today continues to improve the services offered by the hospital. It is certainly one of the symbols of resilience for all the staff and to him goes all our deep gratitude and gratitude ». Forty-eight years old, originally from Francavilla Marittima, Calabria, Dr. Tursi is president of the Alor Onlus Rehabilitation Oxygen Therapy Association, current director of cardio-respiratory rehabilitation and head of the pulmonology service of the Codogno hospital. At the outbreak of the pandemic, the doctor was on duty at the Maggiore hospital in Lodi and was among the first to contract the virus in March of the same year. His arrival in Codogno dates back to April 2020, just recovered, when he sets up the first outpatient area for Covid patients in the hospital.
