Lazio. Permanent discussion table established on hiring and personal development

Yesterday, the Lazio Region and unions held a meeting to discuss the hiring, stabilization, and insourcing plan for the healthcare sector. The Region announced the establishment of a permanent union discussion table to monitor the progress of procedures aimed at stabilizing temporary healthcare workers and internalizing services currently carried out by private entities.

The meeting, held at the Region’s headquarters, resulted in agreements to speed up the 4289 procedures authorized by the Region, with a financial coverage of 209.5 million euros. The Region also recognized the increase in contractual funds for health companies in the regional health service and agreed to extend fixed-term contracts until June 30th.

Additionally, a reserve of places not exceeding 50 percent of public selections will be established for healthcare professionals with at least three years of service, as a measure to valorize their work during the Covid-19 pandemic. The Region and unions also agreed on measures to reward the experience and professionalism of temporary staff in the healthcare sector.

The Lazio Region and unions will meet again in May to verify the progress of the stabilization procedures and internalization of services. The governor of Lazio, Francesco Rocca, emphasized the commitment to improving the quality and efficiency of the regional health service and reducing precariousness and instability within the sector.

Overall, the agreements reached at the meeting aim to enhance the regional health service, develop staff, and provide essential levels of assistance to citizens, while ensuring the dignity and rights of healthcare workers. The Region sees the collaboration with unions as essential in achieving these goals and looks forward to further progress in the coming months.
