The Spiraglio Filmfestival is a highly integrated culture and health promotion project where mental health workers, users, experts and volunteers work. Each with their own experience and all with the same weight in decisions and thematic choices. The two directions, the scientific and artistic one, have the task of coordinating these choices and giving them a form which, in each edition, seeks to offer the best of mental health told through images, through short films and feature films of every genre and origin.
The project was born as an activity of a Roman Day Center, a stone’s throw from Termini station; after ten years of activity, from the ninth edition of 2019, the Spiraglio becomes a larger project, which aims to train a greater number of users of the Mental Health Department of the ASL Roma1, addressing a catchment area that covers more than one third of the Roman population.
The Spiraglio Film Festival, now in its 14th edition, is an international event of short and feature films, which takes place in Rome from 11 to 14 April at the MAXXI – Museum of 21st Century Arts.
