What are the main differences between the Mediterranean, Atlantic and Nordic diets?

All three diets are intended to reflect a specific regional diet based on different geographical areas and culinary traditions.

The Mediterranean diet comes from countries around the Mediterranean, such as Greece and Italy. The Atlantic way of eating has its roots in the regions along the Atlantic coast, such as Portugal and Spain. The Nordic eating style is native to Scandinavian countries such as Norway and Sweden.

What is special about each type of diet is the different weighting of meat, fish, fruit, vegetables and oils – in one “diet” it is more olive oil, in others it is more cabbage or more fish. All of this is then “ironed straight” standardized and proclaimed as “healthy food”.

This shows that healthy eating can be anything, the term can be used in any way. But all three diets have one thing in common: they all lack causal evidence, i.e. scientific proof of the rumored “health-promoting power”.

Before you start, a “personal tabula rasa” should take place: turn your life upside down thoroughly and completely in order to examine yourself and your own self intensively: who am I, why do I look like that, what do I want and what do I not want to see (anymore) in my life? You don’t necessarily have to count calories to lose weight.
