Boom of aspiring freshmen for the degree course in Medicine and Surgery of Milan-Bicocca. 4,025 candidates have chosen the Milanese University as their first preference for enrollment in degree courses in Medicine and Surgery and Dentistry and Dental Prosthetics, 729 more than in 2020, a figure which marks an increase of 22 percent on the ‘last year. The admission test to the single-cycle master’s degree course in Medicine and Surgery and Dentistry and Dental Prosthetics took place today throughout Italy.

As last year, in consideration of the Covid-19 emergency provisions, each candidate took the test at the university site available in their province of residence (or in the province adjacent to that of residence), regardless of the location indicated as first preference. A part of the candidates coming from the province of Milan (another part of the candidates will take the test at the State University of Milan) and part of the candidates coming from the provinces of Bergamo and Sondrio (a ‘ another part of the candidates will take the test at the State University of Milan and the University of Brescia) for a total of 602 candidates (430 females and 172 males).

563 candidates took the test, with an attendance rate of 93.52 percent. There are 140 places available at Bicocca University for Medicine and Surgery and 26 for Dentistry and Dental Prosthetics. The candidates who have indicated Bicocca University as their first preference are 4025, 3842 Medicine (2605 females and 1237 males) and 183 Dentistry (116 females and 67 males). A year ago the candidates who had opted for Bicocca as first choice were 3296 (3111 Medicine and 185 Dentistry). Record of candidates also for Medicine and surgery, the master’s degree course taught in English.

There are 749 students enrolled in this year’s test, last year there were 580 candidates. A 29 percent increase in questions for the admission tests that will take place on 9 September (680 will take the test directly in Bicocca, remaining at foreign offices). The available places are 25 reserved for EU and non-EU citizens legally residing in Italy and 13 reserved for non-EU citizens residing abroad (also in this case this is a provisional figure, pending further communications from the Ministry University and Research regarding the possibility of increasing the number of permanent places).
