The Manin Park becomes a fitness area: the municipal council has decided to dedicate the South West portion of the city park to physical activity. An inclusive, complete, functional and smart area: a real open-air gym where sociability and well-being meet. «Physical activity is at the base of the prevention pyramid – comments the deputy mayor regent Elzo Severin – the benefits of practicing it are recognized both in terms of health and social and psychological. This is why we decided to create this new “calisthenic” fitness area and increase the Park’s equipment equipment: to give all our fellow citizens the opportunity to integrate low-impact cardio-circulatory activity with exercises for strengthening the muscles with a motor type of new conception and attractiveness “.

The councilor for sport, Elisa Gobbo continues: «The Manin Park naturally lends itself to physical activity, it already has a multi-ring route for walking, running and Nordic walking. With the creation of this new fitness area, the equipment equipment will be completed for all people who wish to do healthy physical activity. The tools that will be installed will allow everyone to do selective activity on workstations differentiated by muscle groups and types of activity, thus responding to the modern practice of motor activity which is also based on calisthenics, or free body exercises using a particular structure. in metal that allows real workouts. All the installations will allow users to practice the now famous “Tabata protocol” ».

The fitness area will be for everyone and for all equipment, in fact, they will be usable by able-bodied and disabled people, thus ensuring integration and promoting sociality. The new fitness area will be composed as follows:

– a “bunk” type structure with multi-functions, bars – rings – benches – parallel

– stations for specific exercises such as squat – rowing machine – pedal board

– an “inclusive station panel” station with different functions

The tools will be installed on concrete plinths and surrounded by suitable anti-trauma flooring. Information panels will also be installed on the use of the equipment that will report a QR Code that will allow, through a dedicated APP, the viewing of illustrative videos. The cost of the new fitness area, which can be called a real open-air gym, amounts to about 50 thousand euros. The new fitness area will be for the exclusive use of young people and adults; boys and children can instead use the playground area, also located in the Park, intended for the 0-12 age group.
