mysterious disease, stopped by doctors

There is fear and concern for Queen Elizabeth’s health condition: a mysterious disease, stopped by doctors.

Queen Elizabeth II is resting at Windsor Castle after “grudgingly” accepted medical advice to cancel a trip to Northern Ireland scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday, Buckingham Palace said. CNN reports it.

The 95-year-old British monarch was advised to rest for the “next few days,” the palace said in a statement. A source close to the building told CNN it “is not related to Covid”. Given the advanced age of the woman, there is obviously a bit of apprehension, even if the official note tends to dilute it.

“Her Majesty is in a good mood and is disappointed that she will no longer be able to visit Northern Ireland, where she would have had to undertake a series of commitments today and tomorrow,” the statement read. Adding: “The Queen sends her warmest wishes to the people of Northern Ireland and looks forward to visiting her in the future.”

The Queen, along with British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, were due to attend a religious service in the city of Armagh on Thursday, on the occasion of the centenary of the partition and founding of Northern Ireland. Irish President Michael D. Higgins previously turned down an invitation to attend the church service because the title “is not a politically neutral statement.”

The group of Irish Church leaders said in a statement Wednesday that they are “sorry” to hear that the Queen will not be present. The group recognized “the significance of its commitment to the work of peace and reconciliation”. The Queen will have to rest, however she is still expected to attend the COP26 climate conference in Glasgow, Scotland, which kicks off later this month.

The Queen’s medical update comes days after she turned down a magazine attempt to award her the title of “Old Woman of the Year,” saying she felt too young at heart. Next year, Queen Elizabeth will celebrate 70 years of reign, which began in the distant 1952. On April 9 of this year, as is well known, she became a widow: her consort, Prince Philip, died.
