Despite many controversies, subscriptions to Nintendo’s Switch Online service are still staggeringly high. According to the company’s recent corporate management briefing, it has been revealed that the service currently accumulates more than 32 million paying users (as of September 2021). This impressive number is more than one-third of the total installed base of 92.87 million Switch game consoles.
Looking ahead, the company also pointed out that it will strive to “continue to improve and expand” the core experience of the service and its newly released expansion packs. Unfortunately, there is currently no detail on how Nintendo plans to do this in the next few months.
The next batch of data should be interesting, because then the data will show how the expansion pack performs. The trailer for this add-on has indeed become the most unpopular YouTube video frequency in Nintendo’s history, but we can see that it still attracts many people to upgrade. Being able to play N64 classic games anytime, anywhere, such as “Super Mario 64” and “The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time” is undoubtedly attractive. In addition, it also provides a Mega Drive game catalog that players can study in depth.
