According to the data of the third report of the ONS – National Observatory for Screening, tests for the detection of occult blood in feces in our country recorded a decrease of 1,100,000 units compared to 2019, with a national average delay of 5.5 months in screening programs. And again: it is estimated that in 2020, 1,300 cancers and 7,400 advanced adenomas – i.e. polyps in an advanced stage of transformation towards cancer – were lost at the diagnosis of screening.
