Itchy eyes and nose? Here’s what you could really have. It is not a simple allergy, but a real disease that is generally discovered too late: this is what it is.
There are some diseases that occur in a rather strange way, just like this one. They manifest themselves with itchy eyes and nose discomfort, but they can often indicate the presence of a pathology that you didn’t think you had. Especially in spring we tend to associate these allergy symptoms, but that’s not really what it’s about: that’s what it could be.
Eye and nose discomfort: here is the disease that hides behind these symptoms
It may be time to consult your GP if some of these symptoms are persistent and bothersome. If you often find yourself with occlusion of the paranasal sinuses, nose discomfort, bleeding and eye problems then something is wrong. If these symptoms are combined with frequent headaches in the paranasal region and pain in the upper dental arch then it is necessary to seek medical treatment and carry out tests.
A CT scan in particular could reveal what is happening in the body. To study carefully what happens in the nose, in fact, only a doctor can make use of tools such as rhinoscope or nasoscope and understand whether it is appropriate to proceed with biopsies or some histological examination under the microscope.
Once the appropriate investigations have been carried out, clearly if the symptoms are particularly annoying and persistent, a diagnosis could be reached which is not at all optimistic. It could in fact be about paranasal breast cancer, that is, a tumor that originates in the nasal cavities where mucus is produced. The air that reaches the throat when we breathe passes through these cavities, so cancer could be the cause of these discomforts.
We speak with the accuracy of melanoma when tumor cells form in melanocytes, the cells that produce pigment. It defines itself sarcoma when it originates in the muscle. Depending on where the tumor originates, it can be called differently. Named tumors can also arise in the paranasal sinuses or nasal cavities midline granulomas which destroy all the tissue. The problem however, as in almost every cancer, is stagnation, in fact the treatment is effective when it localizes the disease in the initial phase that is, when the cells are present only in the maxillary sinus.
Treatments for this type of tumor include both the surgery than the use of radiotherapy and chemotherapy.
