Not just the Olympics, for Technogym also great design – Lifestyles

From straw to cork, 40 Italian and international artists and designers have reinterpreted the Technogym Bench, one of the brand’s iconic products for home wellness, to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the company founded in 1983 by Nerio Alessandri. On the occasion of the Milan Design Week 2024, in fact, to celebrate its 40 years, the company which will also be the Official Supplier of the Paris 2024 Olympics (for the ninth Olympics) today unveiled the special exhibition “Design to Move”, presenting 40 Technogym Bench interpreted by 40 designers and artists from all over the world.

The Technogym Bench was thus used as a blank canvas for the unique creations of designers such as Antonio Citterio, Nendo, Patricia Urquiola, Kelly Hoppen, Piero Lissoni, Walter de Silva, Rolf Sachs, Elena Salmistraro, Michele Bönan, and many others, all protagonists inside the exhibition. Creations that have reworked the Technogym Bench in a “classic” version, albeit with the most disparate colours, but also with more particular versions, such as the cork one or the one completely covered in straw. A selection of 15 of the unique works will be auctioned in a special auction organized by Sotheby’s in September, while the other 25 will be put up for sale on the technogym.com website with the entire proceeds going to Unicef.

The exhibition will be open to the public from 16 to 21 April and was inaugurated today, in an event at the Technogym Milan headquarters in Via Durini. An evening in which there was no shortage of guests, personalities and VIPs in the sporting field but not only: from the Minister of Made in Italy Adolfo Urso who inaugurated the event to the president of CONI Giovanni Malagò, passing through the president and CEO of F1 Stefano Domenicali, Tod’s CEO Andrea Della Valle, former Italy captain Fabio Cannavaro, Inter CEOs Giuseppe Marotta and Alessandro Antonello and AC Milan players Davide Calabria and Tijjani Reijnders.
