Novartis Hosts Event in Madrid to Discuss Biomedical Innovation

Last Tuesday, Novartis celebrated the event ‘Passionate about science and people’ in Madrid, where the company presented its vision for biomedical innovation in fields such as oncology, cardiology, neurology, and immunology. Novartis is currently focusing on developing innovative medicines through advanced technological platforms including gene and cell therapies, RNA technology, and radioligand therapies. In addition, the company continues its work in chemical and biological therapies.

Experts like Ricardo Moure, Dr. José Luis Zamorano, and Dr. Adolfo Gómez discussed the transformative potential of these platforms, bringing us closer to precision medicine. Jesus Ponce, president of Novartis Spain, highlighted the company’s commitment to revolutionizing health and transforming lives for present and future generations. Carina Escobar, president of the Platform of Patient Organizations, emphasized the need for patient entities to have a more active role in health policies and for professionals to improve communication skills for shared decision-making with patients.

Dr. José María de la Torre Hernández and Dr. Yolanda Gilaberte also stressed the importance of collaboration within the ecosystem to raise awareness about pathologies and reduce stigma around diseases. By fostering stronger relationships among health agents, they believe that access to new therapeutic options and increased training for professionals can significantly impact patient care.
