Onb webinar on “The present and future of the biologist in the cosmetic product supply chain”

On 9 June 2022, the National Order of Biologists, in collaboration with the University of Ferrara, will hold the webinar entitled “The present and future of the biologist in the cosmetic product chain”.

The event is free and accredited for 10.5 Ecm credits and is intended for the professional figure of biologist, chemist, doctor and pharmacist.

Rational

In recent years we have matured how much multidisciplinary approaches are necessary in the management of the well-being of all living beings, in particular man. In this context, the event “The PRESENT and THE FUTURE OF THE BIOLOGIST IN THE COSMETIC PRODUCT CHAIN.

Treating the world of cosmetics in an ethical and scientific way, so that it can truly improve the health and well-being of the skin without neglecting the environment in which we live is one of the objectives of this conference. Is it necessary to ask some questions and clarify when we talk about traditional, natural, sustainable, functional cosmetics? How? Let’s start from why a cosmetic product is born and how it is designed, analyzed and then proposed to the final consumer. The trend of innovative cosmetology is to propose a functional cosmetics, in which the selected active ingredients are one of the sources of the nutrients necessary to keep the skin healthy and to counteract premature skin aging. The goal is to exploit the properties of the latest generation cosmetics to enhance their action on the physiological and metabolic processes of the skin. In recent times, a strong correlation between nutrients and cosmetics has been demonstrated between active ingredients for topical use, special food extracts that are effective in cosmetics and also recommended within specific nutritional plans for the prevention of oxidative stress have been identified and studied. and consequently of premature skin aging. Innovating and designing cosmetic products in safety is not limited to the formula and production of the cosmetic matrix but also of the packaging in direct contact in compliance with mandatory and optional steps that refer to regulatory affairs to make the cosmetic product complete, safe and compliant with all industry standards.

Objectives: To encourage current and future biologists to undertake university and post-graduate training courses specialized in cosmetology, to have the right qualifications to carry out the profession at 360 degrees with skills in all specific sectors: formulation, regulatory, chemical and cosmetic technology. chemical-physical / toxicological / microbiological / functional control. Promote knowledge of national and international standards on the production and sale of cosmetics, chemical risk assessment, certification and design of new safer products, with reference to their entire life cycle.

In short, to transmit and encourage the culture for a cosmetic product: safe, effective and sustainable. It is therefore the objective of this scientific event to make all stakeholders aware of the strategic role of the biologist and applied biology in the combination of Lifestyles, Environment and Wellbeing.
