The gym is finished, within a month the last works will be completed at the first grade “Marina Centro” primary school in via Catullo. Inspired by the principles of sustainable urban regeneration and an educational approach based on the pedagogical model of Gianfranco Zavalloni, the new school in via Catullo stands out for the highest safety standards, self-sufficiency from an energy point of view, therefore zero cost, and a internal structure designed to create comfortable places for teaching. Made entirely of wood, it has 5 completely innovative classrooms starting from the architectural conformation in the shape of a flower and movable walls between one and the other so as to allow interaction between several classes.
The plexus looks like a cluster of pavilions and a central square in which each pavilion constitutes a class and is modular and combinable with the use of sliding walls. Openings on the vertical walls favor ample natural light with direct access to the garden and educational gardens, the latest interventions in order of time to be completed within the next month. The gymnasium, visited this morning by the administration in the presence of the head teacher of the Zavalloni Institute, Nicola Tontini, by the designers, by the construction company and with the blessing of Don Massimiliano Cucchi, is located in the opposite part of the classrooms for an area of approximately 400 meters and opens directly to the garden in order to create a connection with the outdoor play areas and with independent access. In addition to the gym, a canteen, an auditorium and common areas for workshops and supplementary activities have been created.
Another new gym was built in the Fontanelle primary school in via Capri, where expansion works are underway in view of the school year. Equipped with stands for a capacity of 150 spectators, in this new gym it will be possible to play basketball and volleyball games outside of school hours in accordance with current sports regulations. Overall, the city will be equipped with 5 new gyms. In addition to Catullo, Fontanelle and Alghero already built, the further two gyms in via Ionio and Panoramica are in the process of being completed.
