The result is a personal version of the lockers, which, the company explains in a note, “aim to increase the level of service to consumers, giving the possibility to receive the shopping directly in the condominium at any time, without having to agree on the time. delivery or delegate collection “.

The expense is deposited directly in the personal locker where it will be protected until the arrival of the consumer, who can open the locker with a digital key in his possession. The personal locker, specifies Unilever, which will launch the project in Cascina Merlata, a residential area in Milan, “is granted on loan for the purchase of Unilever products from a wide range of food, household cleaners and hygiene products. and personal well-being (for an expense of € 14.90 per month) “.

The condominium lockers installed in the condominium common areas and for free use by all condominiums will instead be free and will be installed in larger buildings where there is the possibility of accessing internal common areas.

“It is a project that seeks to combine innovation in consumer service, savings and respect for the environment”, explained Guido Martuscelli, Head of New Generation Channel at Unilever Italia, who concludes: “Thanks to this new sales channel, we are able to to increasingly meet the needs of the consumer by significantly reducing the quantity of packaging to be produced and disposed of, as well as – as in general for home-delivery shopping – emissions related to transport. Our goal for 2022 is to install 100 refill stations, 300 condominium lockers and 1000 individual lockers in the city of Milan alone. From 2023 we plan to extend the initiative to Rome and other major Italian cities as well. “
