Youth Forum ‘Animals, life companions’ to raise awareness against animal abandonment and abuse
Every year in Spain, more than 300,000 pets are abandoned, leading to real stories of suffering. Having a pet is a responsibility, and it is essential to involve youth in raising awareness against animal abandonment and abuse.
To address this issue, the Youth and Animal Protection departments of the Alfàs del Pi City Council are organizing the Youth Forum ‘Animals, life companions’ on Friday, February 2. The initiative is aimed especially at people between 12 and 30 years old and will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. in the multipurpose room of the Pensioner’s Home.
The Forum will feature discussions on new legislation on animal welfare and the participation of the APPA Animal Protection association, which aims to promote actions that discourage animal abandonment and abuse. Additionally, the Forum will include group dynamics led by an occupational therapist specialized in educational and therapeutic interventions assisted with animals, addressing the benefits of animals and the importance of adopting abandoned animals.
Those interested in participating can register at the Youth Information Center of l’Alfàs del Pi, with limited places available. The ‘Youth Forum’ project aims to promote debate, dialogue, and the exchange of opinions among young people, creating a space for them to contribute their ideas and suggestions.
