Results of the Round Table on Exercise and Health

For the Sports development plan In five working groups, experts from administration, sport, science and civil society developed important recommendations and measures on all aspects of popular sport. This applies, for example, to strengthening sport and encouraging physical activity for children and young people, for example in the context of all-day schools. The involvement of sports clubs and the further qualification of teachers play an important role. Another focus was the further development of voluntary work, in particular to promote volunteers more than before and to relieve them of bureaucracy. The social importance of club sport in particular was also highlighted, as it contributes to overcoming cultural and social barriers and to conveying values such as fairness.

Based on these results and the discussions at the exercise summit, the BMI will continue work on the sport development plan, initially with the aim of reaching a consensus at the federal level.
